Volontari per la Cultura

The SMV participates in the "volontari per la cultura" programme, which opens the doors of museums and libraries to volunteers, with the aim of making cultural services more rooted in the community and qualifying cultural volunteering. The contribution of active citizens who freely offer their time, skills and experiences has also made it possible to expand the range of services offered by libraries and museums.

The programme started 10 years ago and has grown over time, both in library and museum membership, and in participation by citizens.

Museums and libraries offer ad hoc activities for volunteers, welcome, and accompany them in their experience.

Over the years, volunteers have engaged in multiple activities: helping with the routine management of libraries and museums, after-school activities, reading groups, reading aloud, guided tours, Italian courses for foreigner learners and much more.
